About the Ford Focus RS WRC 2001
Housing a myriad of innovation under its production-car exterior, such as the longitudinally mounted engine and transmission, the Ford Focus set the rally world on its heels at its debut in 1999. For the 2001 season, the focus of improvements revolved mainly around the engine. The 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine was given a longer stroke and several changes were made to the exhaust manifold.

With the installation of a new turbo charger, even more torque and response could be realized. In addition to last year's drivers, Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz, Francois Delecour was added to Ford's talent rich roster for 2001. McRae took three wins in a row at the 5th, 6th, and 7th races, and Sainz took the second prize in the 1st and 3rd races, showing Ford's championship potential.

Characteristic tail lamps and unique form of the Ford Focus WRC 01 are faithfully reproduced in 1/24 scale model form. The complex coloring design can be accurately recreated with easy-to-apply decals.

Nylon mesh fits onto front grille, and radiator can be viewed after assembly. Model also features front lip spoiler and bumper without air outlets, characteristic of the 2001 version of the Ford Focus WRC.

Under-guard (indispensable for rally racing), muffler, suspension recreated with the utmost detail.

In true Tamiya style the model remains accurate down to treads on Pirelli tires and OZ made wheels. You can even see the detail of the wheel spokes and large brake caliper after assembly. All the parts needed for a rugged ride, reduced to 1/24 scale without sparing a single detail.

Comes with realistic driver figures!
Tamiya presents a 1/24 scale model kit, including two driver figures, of the car that's racing to the top in this year's World Rally Championships. Driver figure can be assembled in the straightaway, right hard turn, and left hard turn pose. Co-driver to be recreated in data reading pose. This unique machine is authentically reproduced with its rounded body, altered rear wing, and front lip spoiler. This model captures all of the Ford Focus RS WRC's characteristic features and is great for building the perfect diorama.
