Entered by Team Honda Racing, the Takata Dome NSX was piloted by Ryo Michigami, widely considered as Honda's ace driver, and rookie Takashi Kogure during the 2005 Super GT season. The team achieved 2nd place at Round 5 Motegi with their car powered by a naturally-aspirated mid-mounted 3.5 liter V6 engine, but bad luck plagued the team and dashed their high hopes for the season.
